    • Now use a thin piece of sheet metal, a credit card or Jimmy (Ifixit tool) and gently push it into the slot between the frame and the keyboard. It"s best to start at the top right.

    • You can now pry very easily to lift the keyboard out of the clip. It"s best to insert another thin object in between after a clip has been released (so it doesn't slip back down).

  8. Lenovo IdeaPad G500 Replacing the keyboard, The Flex Cable: step 8, image 1 of 1
    • ATTENTION: Once you have freed the keyboard from the frame, you still need to disconnect the flex cable before you can remove it.

    • Use a small flat-head screwdriver and lift the lock of the plug. (The small gray strip)

    • You can then pull the cable out of the connector.
