Introduction

Float valves may wear out over time, preventing them from rising or falling correctly. This guide will demonstrate how to replace the float valve.

  1. Remove the lid and place it upside-down on a flat surface.
    • Remove the lid and place it upside-down on a flat surface.

  2. Pinch the rubber gasket on the float valve and pull up.
    • Pinch the rubber gasket on the float valve and pull up.

  3. Pull the rubber gasket off of the metal rod. The valve will fall out of its hole onto the table. It can now be cleaned or replaced.

    • You may find it helpful to push up on the float valve from the other side of the lid while you remove the gasket.
