Introduction

This page will show you the two main differences between a Combat Machine 16 Carbine and a Raider airsoft guns. Refer to the Carbine guide for full disassemble instructions.

The biggest difference between a Combat Machine Carbine and a Raider is the wiring. The Carbine is wired to the front, and holds a battery inside the handguard, while the Raider is wired to the rear, and holds a battery in the stock. As you can see in the third picture, you can detach the rear wires from the gearbox after you remove the buffer tube. Another difference is the pistol grip plate. The Raider uses a different style of pistol grip, which also has a different plate from the one found on the Carbine. Instead of using a large, slotted screw for motor height adjustment, this version uses a set screw with a round metal plate on top. It is important that you do not lose this plate when taking apart the gun, and reinstall it in the correct position afterwards.

  • Notice that the plate will have some grease on it. This grease is used to help the plate stick in place, and make it easier to position when installing the pistol grip plate.
