Introduction
If your air fryer no longer gets hot or needs unusually long cooking times, its heating element has probably failed. Replacing the element restores normal performance and costs far less than buying a new appliance. This guide shows you how to open the lid, remove the fan, disconnect the wiring and fit a new element without damaging the glass bowl or sharp metal parts.
What you need
-
Step 2 Remove the underside plate
-
Remove the three screws on the underside of the lid and lift away the metal plate.
-
-
Step 5 Free the heating element
-
Remove the two main screws and the third stabilising screw that secure the heating element.
-
Straighten the side metal bracket so the element can move freely.
-
-
Step 6 Label and disconnect wiring
-
Pull the connectors off the thermostat and heater terminals using needle-nose pliers.
-
-
Step 7 Remove the heating element
-
Lift the heating element out of the lid once the wires and screws are free.
-
-
Step 8 Install the replacement element and reassemble
-
Position the new element, tighten its mounting screws and close the side bracket.
-
Reconnect the labelled wires, refit the housing panel, spacer, fan and nut, then reinstall the metal plate.
-
Your air fryer should now heat up normally again. If the unit still fails to reach temperature, verify every connector is firmly seated and confirm the replacement element matches the original wattage.
