How to perform a full service on your dryer

What you need

    • Unplug the dryer from the wall outlet and verify the cord is fully removed from mains.

    • Work only on a cool, dry appliance to avoid electric shock.

    • Open the door and lift out the primary lint filter, removing all fibres.

    • Pull the secondary screen out of the door aperture and wipe it clean.

    • Slide the condenser cassette from the base and rinse it under running water every 10–15 drying cycles.

    • Regular cleaning prevents odours, leaks and fire caused by blocked airflow.

    • Empty the water container then fill it with acidic bathroom cleaner and a handful of abrasive media such as rice.

    • Close the cap, shake vigorously, leave to soak and rinse until the plastic is clear.

    • Tilt the dryer forward to expose the underside of the cabinet.

    • Undo all cross-head screws along the lower edge using a screwdriver.

    • Place the thickest screws in a dedicated tray so they return to their original positions.

    • There are three different screw sizes in this machine; keep each set separate.

    • Undo the two screws holding the top cover and lift the cover away.

    • Remove the front-frame screws, lift the panel upward and pull it toward you.

    • On the condensate-drawer side remove the two hidden hand-tightened screws before freeing the panel.

    • Set the front panel aside for later cleaning.

    • Undo the screws and lift away the rear cover with the fan and heater housing.

    • Drain any pooled condensate water immediately to keep electrics dry.

    • Standing water indicates severe blockage that will be cleared later.

    • Mark phase and neutral on the supply terminals with a marker before unplugging them.

    • Disconnect the main power wires and free the harness from cable ties.

    • Undo the Torx T25 hinge screws and lift the door off the cabinet.

    • Remove the three screws on the top edge of the control fascia.

    • Release the three plastic clips and gently pry the control panel free.

    • Photograph all connectors before unplugging them to avoid cross-wiring during reassembly.

    • Disconnect the wiring, handling brittle clips carefully to prevent breakage.

    • Undo the screw securing the left side panel and slide the panel off.

    • Remove the screw holding the condensate drawer housing and pull the housing forward.

    • Unplug the door-switch harness and cut the old cable ties that hold the loom.

    • Remove the small screws on each side of the rear drum support bracket.

    • Detach the condensate tube and lower the support away from the drum.

    • Support the drum with one hand so it does not sag when the bracket is removed.

    • Check the drum felt for wear; if intact brush out trapped lint instead of replacing it.

    • Unplug the temperature and pump connectors noting that the pump uses three contacts.

    • Use a 13 mm wrench to loosen the nut and slide the fan wheel off its shaft.

    • Remove the four screws securing the heater plate and lift the heater out.

    • Cut the remaining cable tie to free the harness completely.

    • Vacuum lint from the heater elements and enclosure using a narrow nozzle and brush.

    • Scrub stubborn deposits with a steel brush or kitchen scouring pad until metal surfaces are clear.

    • Scoop wet lint from the sump by hand before using a dry-only vacuum to avoid water damage.

    • Remove the pump impeller and clean the magnet and housing so water can flow freely to the tank.

    • Refit the heater with its four screws then slide the fan wheel on and tighten the 13 mm nut.

    • Reinstall the drum support bracket condensate tube and side panels keeping wires routed as photographed.

    • Secure the harness with new cable ties and reconnect the mains wires according to your markings.

    • Reattach the control panel door front panel top cover and bottom screws matching each screw type to its original hole.

    • Plug the dryer in and run a short programme to confirm drum rotation airflow and absence of leaks or smells.

    • Service is complete when the machine runs quietly and the control lights behave normally.

Conclusion

Your dryer is now clear of lint, moisture paths are open and the heater is safe. Keep the filters clean after every cycle and repeat this deep service whenever airflow drops or odours return.
