Open the dishwasher door.
Pull the dish rack out and place it to the side.

Twist the cap of the filter basket until you feel it loosen.
Remember the phrase: “Righty tighty, lefty loosey”—turn right (clockwise) to tighten, and left (counterclockwise) to loosen.
Lift the drain screen and filter basket up to remove it and put it in a nearby sink.

Put the drain screen and filter basket under running water.
Use a washcloth or scrub brush to remove any food particles on the outside and inside the filter basket.

The drain should be exposed after you have removed the drain screen and filter basket.
Reach into the drain and feel around to see if you can locate any large food particles that may have slipped past the screen and filter system and remove them.
Put the waste into the green bin or garbage.

Under the sink next to the dishwasher should be the water outlet hose that connects the dishwasher to the kitchen sink drain pipe.
Remove all the content in front of the outlet hose in order to have proper access to the outlet hose.
There should be a clamp on the outlet hose to keep it attached to the drain pipe.
Place a towel under the outlet hose in case any water spills or leaks out.
Use a 2.5 mm flathead or standard screwdriver to loosen the clamp screw.

Check for any blockages or food particles in the outlet hose.
Clean out any debris or food particles left in the outlet hose.

Use the wet vacuum with the attachment that fits in the outlet hose.
Turn on the wet vacuum to suck out any food particles or debris that may be located deeper within the outlet hose.
If the water in the dishwasher begins to drain when using the wet vacuum that indicates the blockage has been removed.
