Unknown to the average user there are many different variants of the Galaxy S7. This guide outlines how to identify which rear camera you need in order to fix your Galaxy S7. If you replace the camera in your Galaxy S7 with the wrong type, you will get the "Camera Failed" message.

These cameras are NOT interchangeable. A Samsung camera must be replaced with a Samsung camera and vice versa

The Sony camera pictured here is for the S7 Edge. I tried it in my standard S7 and it failed. The correct S7 Sony camera has two lines of text on the flex. My phone is the 930V.

Thank you JAmes, that’s exactly the info I’m looking for.
My question is if the ISOCELL S5K2L1 is compatible with my Samsung Galaxy S6, whose Camera ID is S5K2P2. I am asking this because I have a cracked Camera Lens and I intend to replace it with a new one, but since I am going to have to remove the back cover, it shouldn't be much of an issue replacing the rear camera as well. Is this possible?
