HP Omen 15-ce198wm Battery Replacement

What you need

    • Place the laptop with the bottom facing upwards.

    • Remove eight black 4.7 mm screws using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

    • Loosen the two captive screws on the bottom of the laptop using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

    • Insert an opening tool or a pick between the bottom panel and your computer, and then push down to pull it up.

    • Repeat the step above across every edge, so the panel lifts up completely.

    • I like to start from the rear, as shown in the picture, since there's a wider gap there.

    • You might have to use force to push it open, but always be gentle with your laptop.

    • Remove the four 5.7 mm screws from the battery using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

    • Use your hands to lift the battery out of the laptop.

    • You may need to push the battery inside a bit to get it out from the clips.

    • To install the new battery, simply line up the clips and push them down.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. Overall, it's an easy process. Most of the estimated time is just trying to remove the bottom panel from the laptop.

this is misleading and lying. You made me buy a $50 battery I don't need because you said to buy the ifixit battery. The 15-ce198wm uses a different battery. Unacceptable.

Hi, Christian, I'm really sorry for my mistake. When I wrote it, I was just trying to get the assignment done for my class. I never thought that people would actually follow my guide. Seeing the image of my battery and the battery linked, I can clearly see the mistake I made, as the models don't match. I'm not sure what iFixit's policies are, but I hope you can get a refund. Again, I'm really sorry for my oversight, and I will be fixing this guide so it doesn't happen again.
