HP Elitebook x360 1040 G5 Speakers Replacement

Introduction

This guide provides detailed instructions to replace your laptops speakers or check its connection to the motherboard. Before you open your laptop try to troubleshoot other problems first, our troubleshooting page may help. If you determine that the speakers themselves are the issue follow this guide to replace them.

What you need

  1. HP Elitebook x360 1040 G5 Speakers Replacement, Lower Case: step 1, image 1 of 2 HP Elitebook x360 1040 G5 Speakers Replacement, Lower Case: step 1, image 2 of 2

    • Power off device before disassembly.

    • Use the T5 Torx screwdriver to remove the six 4 mm screws from the underside of the laptop.

    • Pry open the lower case from where it meets the laptop base.

    • Remove the lower case from the work area.

    • Use the Phillips 1 screwdriver to remove the five 3mm Phillips screws from the battery assembly.

    • Carefully remove the power supply connector by pulling on both sides of its head.

    • Do not tug on the wires as they may become damaged.

    • Lift the battery from its position, removing it from the device.

    • Use the Phillips 0 screwdriver to remove the four 3mm Phillips screws from the speaker assembly.

    • Carefully remove the plug, connecting the speaker assembly to the motherboard on the right hand side, by pulling on either side of its head.
