Introduction

This guide will instruct users on how to successfully eject and replace the CD/DVD ROM drive.

Image 1/1: The battery may be warm or even HOT to the touch.
  • Make sure the laptop is powered OFF. Gently turn the laptop over and place it on a flat surface.

  • The battery may be warm or even HOT to the touch.

  • Locate the battery EJECT latch.

Image 1/2: The battery will be lifted out of the laptop slightly as you press the latch over as far as it will go. Image 2/2: When replacing the battery, you '''DO NOT''' need to adjust the latch. Once the battery is replaced, snap it into place and the latch will return to normal.
  • Grab the laptop firmly on the side and using your thumb, press the eject latch towards the OUTER edge of the device.

  • The battery will be lifted out of the laptop slightly as you press the latch over as far as it will go.

  • When replacing the battery, you DO NOT need to adjust the latch. Once the battery is replaced, snap it into place and the latch will return to normal.

  • Locate the CD/DVD ROM drive. In order to recover an important disc from the drive, locate the manual release hole.

  • Insert paper clip or other small diameter object to engage the release mechanism.

  • Locate the screw that secure the CD/DVD ROM drive.

  • Use Philips #0 screwdriver to remove the 2.5 x 5.0mm CD/DVD ROM screw.

  • Place the 2.5 x 5.0mm CD/DVD ROM drive screw on the magnetic project mat.
