Introduction

You will be disassembling the HP 7 1800 and using a soldering iron to replace the audio jack.

What you need

Step 1 Remove the back panel

Use a Spudger to open the back panel. Be careful not to break the tabs.

Step 2 Desoldering the audio jack

Desolder the top lead for the six solder points.

Step 3 Removing the audio jack

Once the solder is removed, gently pull the audio jack away from the motherboard with tweezers.
