The first step to removing the faceplate is carefully moving the opening tool around the edge.
After loosening the clips on the edge, pull the faceplate off. Be aware that there is double-sided stick tape holding it on (indicated by the red arrow).

Step 2

Remove the four Phillips #000 screws.
The screws circled in red are longer than the screw circled in orange.

Remove the camera and boards from the black plastic housing. You can use many tools to do this. We found that using the plastic opening tool may assist in the removal.

Remove the ribbon cable by simply pulling on it. This will remove it from its connection.
Push down on the three wires and the clip will disconnect from the motherboard.

Step 5

Remove the four Phillips #000 screws.
Once the screws are removed and out of the way, gently remove the board. As you lift the board, the computer chip (outlined in orange) will separate from the motherboard.

Step 6

Take your screwdriver with the PH000 Philips head attachment on it and remove the four screws outlined in red.
Just like before, just pull up on the ribbon strip and remove the connector from the motherboard.

Before... when? In a previous guide? If so, there is no reason to believe the reader even looked at a guide before this one. Even if the reader had looked at other guides, which guide is 'before' referencing? Before is not clear.

Step 7

Remove these two screws and remove the riser that is being held in by the screws.

Remove the screw holding the motherboard in place.
Do not attempt to remove the motherboard at this stage, as it is still attached by a ribbon cable.

At the top of the ribbon cable, there is a black clip that needs to be popped up.
You can use your finger to pop this up. But, a pair of needle nose tweezers might help.

Step 10

Gently grab the ribbon with the needle nose tweezers and pull down. This will disconnect the ribbon from the connector.
Now, the motherboard can be removed. Due to the USB connector being on the motherboard, the entire board needs to be replaced.

How can this be the last step to replacing the charging port? You have not established a relationship between the USB connector and the charging port.
