Introduction

This guide will show you how to replace one or both fans on the the Aero 14 or 15w/x. I used a 15w for this guide, which is mostly the same apart from the display, gpu, and power adapter (none of which are relevant to this guide).

  1. Remove the 13 T6 screws from the back case
    • Remove the 13 T6 screws from the back case

  2. Use a plastic pick, or a very small flathead on the bottom long section, and gradually pull up the panel as you go up the sides

  3. There are no screws, although there may be some adhesive strips holding it down

  4. Unscrew the 10 Philips #1 screws and disconnect the cables
    • Unscrew the 10 Philips #1 screws and disconnect the cables

  5. Remove the Philips #00 screws from whichever fan you are replacing and peel it away from the adhesive (you can try attaching the new fan to the adhesive but it's not required) It is recommended that you reapply the thermal paste
    • Remove the Philips #00 screws from whichever fan you are replacing and peel it away from the adhesive (you can try attaching the new fan to the adhesive but it's not required)

    • It is recommended that you reapply the thermal paste

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
