Flip-Flop Line Strap Replacement

What you need

  1. Flip-Flop Line Strap Replacement, Line Strap: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Use the utility scissors to remove the tip of the broken line strap.

    • Try to remove as much of the broken tip as possible.

    • Position one 8-inch zip tie underneath the strap line.

    • Head end of the zip tie.

    • Tail end of the zip tie.

    • You can use any color zip tie to match the color of your flip-flop.

    • Zip ties can be purchased from stores such as Walmart, Ace Hardware, and the Dollar Tree.

    • Fold the zip tie so that the head end is on top of the line strap.

    • Insert the tail end through the head end to make a loop.

    • Tighten the loop by pulling on the tail end of the zip tie.

    • Make the loop approximately a half-inch.

    • Cut off the extra zip tie material.

    • Pass the metal flat washer through the second 8-inch zip tie.

    • 4.8mm metal flat washer.

    • Pass the tail end through the hole on the bottom of the flip-flop.

    • Pass the tail end through the loop of the first zip tie.

    • Return the tail end back through the hole.

    • Pass the tail end into the 4.8mm metal flat washer.

    • Turn the flip-flop on its side for a better view.

    • Push the 4.8mm metal flat washer inside the hole of the flip-flop.

    • Insert the tail end into the head end.

    • Adjust the length of the zip tie to create a snug fit between your toes.

    • Push the loop of the tail into the hole.

    • Pull on the tail end until you're satisfied with the length.

    • Turn the flip-flip over occasionally to check the length of the toe piece as needed.

    • Length of toe piece.

    • This step might take some trial and error.

    • Push the head end into the hole of the flip-flop.

    • It's okay if the head end does not fit perfectly inside the hole. It will eventually fit deeper into the hole from walking.

    • Cut off the extra zip tie material.

    • Cut off about a 1-inch piece of heavy duty duct tape.

    • You can use any color heavy duty duct tape to match the color of your flip-flop.

    • Wrap the 1-inch piece of heavy duty duct tape tightly around the toe piece of the flip-flop.

    • If you don't have heavy duty duct tape, use two pieces of regular duct tape.
