Use a spudger or your fingernail to push back the release lever on one of the two straps on the underside of the Fitbit.
You may experience some resistance from the release, but don't use excessive force, as it may damage the release levers.

As you pull back the release lever, shift the strap diagonally.
Remove from the Fitbit strap.
