The Eton FRX3 uses a single internal, rechargeable nickel-metal hydride battery. Unfortunately, this battery may not last forever and will slowly lose it's abbility to hold charge over time. But luckily, swapping it out for a brand new one doesn't even require a screwdriver!

My question is where can you find an FRX3 replacement battery?

Hey mate, you can buy the battery packs from a number of sources. Here's the link to one of those sources

is it ok to replace it with a higher capacity lithium battery?

As long as the specifications match, that should be fine. Just be careful when swapping out components in circuits, as it can potentially destroy the device if they're incompatible!
