Disassembling IBM ThinkPad T42 Rear Cover

Introduction

The disassembly of the rear cover is simple but requires the removal of a lot of screws.

What you need

  1. Disassembling IBM ThinkPad T42 Rear Cover, Bottom Cover: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • Unscrew the 20 Phillips screws on the underside of the T42.

    • For ease of reassembly, keep your screws organized.

  3. Disassembling IBM ThinkPad T42 Rear Cover, Rear Screws: step 2, image 1 of 1

    • Unscrew the 2 Phillips screws on both sides of the T42's rear.
