Device no longer starts: Clean the main switch

What you need

  1. Device no longer starts: Clean the main switch, Remove screws: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Make sure that the device is disconnected from the power supply. (i.e., the power plug is not plugged into the power outlet)

    • Remove sandpaper holder (green)

    • Remove all 10 screws (red) using a PH2 screwdriver

    • Remove blue plastic housing.

    • Push the orange slider upwards to remove it

    • Lift the switch

    • Pull off the plug contacts of the switch. This can be pretty tough. A pair of needle-nose pliers can help.

    • Toggle the switch several times, then blow it out. Ideally, use a pressurized air gun, but blowing on it may also work.

    • If possible, use a multimeter to test whether the switch is working reliably again.

    • If necessary, install a new switch. Unfortunately, we do not currently know of any suppliers.

    • Make sure that the switch is installed correctly. “1” is facing away from the operator. Observe this for both the black switch and the orange slider.

    • Make that no strands are pinched and that the sliding contacts (green) are positioned correctly in the holders.
