Introduction

In this guide, we will be showing you how to remove the Hard Drive and Audio Board.

  1. Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the computer.
    • Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the computer.

  2. Slide the base cover towards the front of the computer. Lift it up and away from the computer.
    • Slide the base cover towards the front of the computer. Lift it up and away from the computer.

    • If this is all you are doing Follow Step In Reverse if not Go to Next Step.

  3. Lift the black cable-release clip to release the battery cable from the connector on the system board and disconnect the battery cable.
    • Lift the black cable-release clip to release the battery cable from the connector on the system board and disconnect the battery cable.

  4. Remove the screws that secure the battery to the computer.
    • Remove the screws that secure the battery to the computer.

  6. Lift the battery up and away from the computer.
    • Lift the battery up and away from the computer.

    • If this is all you are doing Follow Step In Reverse if not Go to Next Step.

  7. Disconnect the speaker and system board cables from the audio board.
    • Disconnect the speaker and system board cables from the audio board.

  8. Remove the screws that secure the audio board and the hard drive to the computer.
    • Remove the screws that secure the audio board and the hard drive to the computer.

  9. Lift and remove the hard drive and audio board assembly from the computer.
    • Lift and remove the hard drive and audio board assembly from the computer.

  10. Slide the audio board from the hard drive.
    • Slide the audio board from the hard drive.

  11. Remove the screws that secure the hard-drive bracket to the hard drive.
    • Remove the screws that secure the hard-drive bracket to the hard drive.

  12. Remove the hard drive from the hard-drive bracket.
    • Remove the hard drive from the hard-drive bracket.

    • If this is all you are doing Follow Step In Reverse if not Go to Next Step.
