Dell Vostro 1700 Optical Disc Drive Replacement

This guide instructs you on how to replace the Optical Disc Drive from the Dell Vostro 1700 laptop. This very short and straight forward guide will help make your device read from and write to discs again.

What you need

  1. Dell Vostro 1700 Optical Disc Drive Replacement, Optical Disc Drive: step 1, image 1 of 2 Dell Vostro 1700 Optical Disc Drive Replacement, Optical Disc Drive: step 1, image 2 of 2

    • Power off the device before disassembly.

    • Remove the single 8mm Phillips #1 screw just beneath the lock symbol on the bottom of the laptop.

    • Use your screwdriver to shift the tab to the left, towards to Optical Drive.

    • Push the tab to the left until the Optical drive is protruding from the side of the laptop.

    • Pull the Optical Drive firmly out from its slot to remove it from the laptop.
