Dell Streak 10 Pro Speakers Replacement

Introduction

If your speakers seem to be not in the best condition or broken entirely, use this guide to help change out your speakers. You will need a Phillips #0 screwdriver, a plastic opening tool, and tweezers.

What you need

Step 1 Battery

Place the device flat on its screen.
Using the plastic opening tools, pry open the top segment of the tablet where the camera is located.
Take the segment off and place it to the side.

Remove four 4mm Phillips #0 screws.

Using the plastic opening tool, lift off the entire back screen of the tablet.

Disconnect the no-fuss ribbon cable connector.
The best way is to safely pull the white connector straight out of the socket. Using the tweezers, pull out the white connector that contains the red, green, blue, and black cords connected to it.
Remove the battery by gently lifting it out of the device.

Remove three 4mm Phillips #0 screws.

Gently lift up the black covered wire and place it on the side, so that it is not in the way of the procedure.

When encountering a zero insertion force connector, the best way it to carefully use tweezers to flip up the white locking flap securing the blue-tipped ribbon cable.
Then, gently use the tweezers to pull out the blue-tipped ribbon cable from the unlatched connector.

Use two fingers and gently pull the SD card breakout board from its space.

There are five ribbon cables in a row that must be disconnected.
Using the tweezers, carefully pull out the first cable straight out of the no-fuss ribbon cable connector.

When dealing with a zero insertion force connector, the best way it to carefully use a tweezer to flip up the white locking flap holding the blue-tipped ribbon cable.
Then, gently remove the ribbon cable from the socket.

Then gently remove the wire from the socket.

Carefully remove the adhesive tapes using the tweezers.

Using the tweezers, carefully flip up the locking tab on the Zero Insertion Force connector.
Then, gently disconnect the orange ribbon cable.

After removing all the adhesive strips, gently lift up the sensor board as to not bend it.

Once the white tab is lifted, use the tweezer to carefully pull out the orange ribbon cable.
