Dell OptiPlex GX260 Hard Drive Replacement

What you need

    • Lay the Dell Optiplex GX260 down on a clean flat surface with the rear towards you.

    • Push the oval shaped buttons located on the top and bottom of the PC simultaneously and lift the case straight up.

    • Note: Some force may be required to push in the oval buttons open the PC case.

    • Identify the Hard Drive in the case.

    • If there is more than one hard drive installed the process is the same for each hard drive.

    • Remove the power cable from the hard drive by squeezing the side tabs in and pulling gently.

    • Remove the IDE cable from the hard drive by gently pulling the ribbon cable out.

    • Pinch the two green tabs inwards to release the hard drive and lift it out.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

I got this yesterday....up and running now....how on earth do I MERGE the 18GB partition D with C....there is just NO option there.

Also, want to add another HD....but, there are no cables at all?
