In this guide, we will be showing you how to remove and replace the Display Assembly.

  1. WARNING: Before working inside your computer, read the safety information that shipped with your computer. Follow the instructions in "Before You Begin".

    • CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a connector on your computer).

    • Remove the two screws that secure the display assembly to the computer base.

  2. Disconnect the display cable and touch-screen cable from the system-board connectors.
    • Disconnect the display cable and touch-screen cable from the system-board connectors.

    • NOTE: The touch-screen board is optional and may not be present in your computer.

  3. Note the routing of the Mini-Card antenna cables and remove the cables from the routing guides.

  4. Remove the four screws that secure the display assembly to the computer base.
    • Remove the four screws that secure the display assembly to the computer base.

  5. Lift the display assembly off the computer base.

  6. Place the NEW display assembly in position and replace the four screws that secure the display assembly to the computer base.

  7. Route the Mini-Card antenna cables through the routing guides.
    • Route the Mini-Card antenna cables through the routing guides.

  8. Connect the display cable and touch-screen cable to the connectors on the system board.
    • Connect the display cable and touch-screen cable to the connectors on the system board.

  9. Replace the two screws that secure the display assembly to the computer base.
    • Replace the two screws that secure the display assembly to the computer base.
