Introduction

It is useful to to replace the hard drive if your your computer has become slow or your programs freeze or crash.

What you need

Step 1 Battery

Unplug the laptop before changing the battery to avoid electric shock.
Place the laptop on a flat stable surface.
Flip the laptop over so the underside is visible.

Step 2

Locate the battery lock switch.
Slide the lock switch to the left (away from the lock symbol).
Slide the battery out away from the laptop.

Remove the one 2mm Phillips #00 screw on the module cover.
Use the plastic opening tool to lift the module cover.

Step 4

Pull the metal tabs away from the RAM chip to release it from the motherboard.
Pull the chip up from the laptop.
Use the plastic opening tool to lift the chip out if it's difficult to do with your hands.
Repeat this process for the RAM chip directly beneath the last one.
