Loosen the 8 retaining screws on the base of the computer. The screws have retaining washers to hold them in place, so they won't actually separate from the base plate. Remove the bottom cover from the laptop.

After unscrewing, gently lift up the battery with the small plastic tab attached.

Behind the battery, locate this PD12 battery wire and gently unplug it.

With the wire unplugged, and all of the screws taken out, you are free to remove the battery for replacement!
