    • Locate the ribbon cable attaching it to the motherboard. (red rectangle)

    • If it is a backlit keyboard, there is a second, narrow cable (see next step for location) that must also be unplugged. Failure to disconnect either or both before attempting to remove the keyboard can damage the cables and necessitate replacement or repair.

    • Now you can remove the keyboard.

    • Unscrew the screws (red circles).

    • Remove the two screws (red circles)

    • Lift the metal part (orange rectangle)

    • Lift the metal piece (orange rectangle), unlatch the cable connector (green rectangle) and remove the adhesive-backed 'tape' (yellow rectangle).

    • Insert a pick into the bottom edge of the frame and slide it as depicted. (red arrows)

    • Avoiding force, carefully unclip the lower part by hand.
