Introduction

This guide will help you step by step to reach and replace the inner eyepiece of canon EOS 30.

Parts

No parts required.

Remove two 4.8 mm black screws on the front of the camera.
  • Remove two 4.8 mm black screws on the front of the camera.

Remove one 4.3 mm black screw under the lens ring and one 4.8 mm black screw on the bottom of the camera.
  • Remove one 4.3 mm black screw under the lens ring and one 4.8 mm black screw on the bottom of the camera.

Remove one 4.8 mm black screw on the left side.

Remove the front panel by lifting out the side opposite the grip.

Slide the outer eyepiece upward to remove it.

Remove four 4.3 mm Phillips #00 screws from back of camera.

Slowly separate top panel from camera by pushing up.
  • Slowly separate top panel from camera by pushing up.

  • Be careful, as top panel is still attached by wiring and ribbon cable to the camera.

Unscrew two 9.5 mm, black screws that attaches the inner eyepiece to the camera body.
  • Unscrew two 9.5 mm, black screws that attaches the inner eyepiece to the camera body.

Next, unscrew the two 4.3 mm, silver screws by the inner eyepiece.

After the previous step, the inner eyepiece can be separated into three parts. Be careful, the outer piece (left) has a small gear which can fall of easily and be lost.

At last, to remove the glass panel unfasten the two 3.6 mm, black screws from the outer piece . When separating the glass panel, make sure not to separate the small, rubber piece attached to the panel, from the outer piece. Now, you can replace the inner eyepiece. At last, to remove the glass panel unfasten the two 3.6 mm, black screws from the outer piece . When separating the glass panel, make sure not to separate the small, rubber piece attached to the panel, from the outer piece. Now, you can replace the inner eyepiece.
  • At last, to remove the glass panel unfasten the two 3.6 mm, black screws from the outer piece . When separating the glass panel, make sure not to separate the small, rubber piece attached to the panel, from the outer piece. Now, you can replace the inner eyepiece.
