Bosch AL 1860 CV Faulty Resistor Replacement

Introduction

Bosch charger AL1860 CV for 18V batteries for lawnmowers/garden tools no longer charges. Replacement of a resistor (R3 = 220 kOhm).

    • Remove the AC plug

    • Open the charger (remove 4 Philips screws)

    • Localize resistor R3

    • Detach the circuit board from the housing (4 plastic tabs)

    • Caution: Capacitor (150uF/400V) may still be charged!!!

    • Obtain new 220k Ohm 2W resistor

    • Resistor R3 needs to be desoldered
