Introduction

This guide will show how to replace the transmission of Black and Decker PS-1800.

Parts

No parts required.

Image 1/2: Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all six 18mm Phillips screws. Image 2/2: Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the single 12mm Philips screw.
  • Flip device over so that the screw holes face up.

  • Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all six 18mm Phillips screws.

  • Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the single 12mm Philips screw.

  • Remove one side of the Clamshell.

  • After the clamshell has been removed the motor will be located at the top.

  • The black and red wires will need to be removed from the motor.

  • The motor will be connected to the transmission and will need to be unscrewed from the transmission.

  • Remove the three 18mm philips screws

Image 1/2: Make sure the transmission gears do not fall out of the transmission. Image 2/2: Make sure the transmission gears do not fall out of the transmission.
  • Removing the motor from the motor transmission assembly.

  • Make sure the transmission gears do not fall out of the transmission.

  • First take the motor out from the the drill. The transmission is connected with the motor.

  • Now that the motor and transmission are separated you will need to remove the torque adjuster from the transmission.
