Introduction

In the Black and Decker CHV1510, the battery is often the first component to fail. This guide will show you how to replace the battery in your vacuum.

No parts required.

  1. Press the buttons with unlock symbols on both sides of the nozzle.
    • Press the buttons with unlock symbols on both sides of the nozzle.

    • Pull the nozzle upward.

    • The other button cannot be seen on the image.

    • Holding the vacuum base firmly, remove all six exterior 20 mm Phillips #0 screws.

    • Carefully and gently pull the two halves of the vacuum apart.

    • Gently pull the battery pack out of the vacuum frame.

    • Holding the battery pack firmly, disconnect the red and black wires from the battery pack by pulling them gently.

    These directions are fine, but they leave out the most difficult part: finding a replacement battery. Nobody sells them, so you can follow these directions and get the battery out, but you won’t have anything to replace it with.
