Black and Decker Dustbuster CHV1510 Outer Shell Removal

Introduction

This guide shows how to disassemble your vacuum enough to remove and replace a faulty power switch. It is a fairly simple process requiring only a long neck Phillips head screwdriver.

What you need

    • Remove nozzle by pressing two blue buttons with unlock symbols on the side of the nozzle.

    • Pull the nozzle upward.

    • The other button cannot be seen on the image.

    • Remove the six exterior 2 mm Phillips #1 screws that secure the two halves of the outer shell.

    • Separate the two halves of the outer shell by pulling them apart.

    • Remove the grey handle by lifting it towards yourself.

    • Be cognizant of the compressed spring in the handle assembly to prevent it from ejecting.

    • Remove the switch assembly from inside the grey handle.

Well, 50mm thin screw driver is also one of tool, normally people don't have it. Hence special mention of philips screw driver might help user.
