Introduction

This replacement will help upgrade the overall performance of the laptop. Extreme care when removing the chips from the RAM slot. Tools required are screw driver and plastic spudger.

Make sure the computer is turned off.
  • Make sure the computer is turned off.

  • Flip the device over so that the back cover is facing you.

Using a Phillips #1 Screwdriver, remove the four 5 mm screws from the top part of the laptop,  the two 6 mm screws from the sides and the four 2 mm screws from the bottom of the laptop.
  • Using a Phillips #1 Screwdriver, remove the four 5 mm screws from the top part of the laptop, the two 6 mm screws from the sides and the four 2 mm screws from the bottom of the laptop.

  • Be sure not to lose or strip any of the screws and remember which screws go where.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry the bottom of the laptop up. Slowly slide it along the edges, twisting it every so often to pop the bottom of the laptop out of the clips holding it in place.

  • Lift off the cover and remove the back cover from the device.

  • Remove the top covering the RAM chips.

  • Gently push the RAM chip holder to the sides.

  • Remove the RAM from the device.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
