Introduction

This guide well help the reader through the process of opening the device, removing the battery, then replacing it with a new one.

Make sure the computer is turned off.
  • Make sure the computer is turned off.

  • Flip the device over so that the back cover is facing you.

Using a Phillips #1 Screwdriver, remove the four 5 mm screws from the top part of the laptop,  the two 6 mm screws from the sides and the four 2 mm screws from the bottom of the laptop.
  • Using a Phillips #1 Screwdriver, remove the four 5 mm screws from the top part of the laptop, the two 6 mm screws from the sides and the four 2 mm screws from the bottom of the laptop.

  • Be sure not to lose or strip any of the screws and remember which screws go where.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry the bottom of the laptop up. Slowly slide it along the edges, twisting it every so often to pop the bottom of the laptop out of the clips holding it in place.

  • Lift off the cover and remove the back cover from the device.

  • Using a Phillips #1 Screwdriver remove the six 3 mm screws keeping the battery in place.

  • Unplug the battery connector from the mother board.

  • Gently remove the battery from the slot.
