Introduction

The motherboard is where all of the action takes place. It connects you to the internet and video streaming as well as running electricity to other parts of the device including the speakers and battery.

  • Caution: Be gentle, excessive force can result in a damaged or cracked screen.

  • Using a Jimmy tool, gently wedge it into the device seam.

  • Gently pry the Jimmy tool from all around the seam of the device until the back panel gets detached.

Locate the black bundle cable connector attached to the battery.
  • Locate the black bundle cable connector attached to the battery.

  • Note: To avoid breaking any inner pieces, slide in a forward motion and do not push down.

  • Using the blue plastic opening tool, gently push the black bundle cable connector until it gets loosened.

  • Using the plastic opening tool, pry out around the edges of the batteries to loosen it out.

  • Note: The battery should be laying down freely in its port.

  • Lift the battery out of its port.'

  • On the left side of the tablet, locate the white cable connector inserted in a black port on motherboard.

  • Using the smallest blue plastic opening tool, slide the white cable box completely out of the port.

  • Locate the end of the ribbon cable that is attached to the mother board.

  • Flip up the clip to loosen the cable. The clip is a beige colored piece of plastic.

    • Using wide nosed tweezers, pinch the blue tab attached to the ribbon cable.

  • Note: You will have to pull firmly, but do not rip it out.

  • Pull the blue tab gently in a lateral motion until it is completely out of its port.

  • Locate the orange/copper component that is inserted into the motherboard.

  • Using wide nosed tweezers, gently pull out the orange/copper ribbon inserted in the port on the motherboard.

  • Locate the white cable connector on top of the tablet. The white cable connector is inserted in a black port on the motherboard.

  • Using the blue plastic opening tool, push the white cable connector out of its port in a side to side motion towards the top of the device.

  • Locate the screws.

  • With the PH000 Phillips head screwdriver, unscrew the seven screws in a counter clockwise motion until they are loosened up.

  • Note: Place the screws in a safe place for later use. There should be two silver and five black screws, a total of seven.

  • Note: Once the screws are removed, the speaker component will be loosely laying in the track.

  • Using a metal spudger tool, remove the speaker by gently lifting the edge of it.

  • Remove the silver tape on one corner with needle nosed tweezers. Remove it from the motherboard.

  • No edits necessary.

  • Make this step a note and change the color to separate it from the other steps above.

  • Using needle nosed tweezers, gently pull both of the orange/copper ribbon cables out of their ports.

  • Locate the five screws holding the motherboard in place.

  • Using a PH000 Phillips head screwdriver, unscrew all five of the screws in a counter clockwise motion.

  • Note: Place the screws in a secure spot for use later.

  • To uninstall the motherboard, use a prying tool to lift it out of the device.

  • Note: The motherboard should be laying freely in its port.
