Alienware 17 R2 Base Panel Replacement

Introduction

In this guide, we will be showing you how to remove and replace the Base Panel.

What you need

  2. Alienware 17 R2 Base Panel Replacement, Close the Display: step 2, image 1 of 1

    • Close the display and turn the computer over.

    • Make sure PC is turned off!

  3. Alienware 17 R2 Base Panel Replacement, Loosen Screws: step 3, image 1 of 1

    • Loosen the captive screws that secure the base panel to the computer base.

  4. Alienware 17 R2 Base Panel Replacement, Releasing Tabs: step 4, image 1 of 1

    • Using a plastic scribe, gently release the tabs that secure the base panel to the computer base.

  6. Alienware 17 R2 Base Panel Replacement, Remove Base Panel: step 5, image 1 of 1

    • Slide and remove the base panel from the computer base.

  7. Alienware 17 R2 Base Panel Replacement, Disconnect Battery Cable: step 6, image 1 of 1

    • Disconnect the Battery cable from the system board.

    • Turn the computer over.

    • Press and hold power button for 5 seconds to ground the system board.

  10. Alienware 17 R2 Base Panel Replacement, Battery Cable: step 9, image 1 of 1

    • Connect the battery cable to the system board.

  11. Alienware 17 R2 Base Panel Replacement, Tighten Screws: step 10, image 1 of 1

    • Tighten the captive screws that secure the base panel to the computer base.
