Introduction

The purpose of this guide is to walk you through replacing the battery in a Acer Chromebook Spin 15 CP315-1H-P1K8 laptop. If the battery in your laptop is no longer holding a charge, use this guide to remove and replace the battery. Make sure to be careful when handling the battery. Handle the back of the computer carefully to make sure it is not broken.

Make sure the device is fully powered off.
Flip the computer over so that the back is facing up.
Remove the twelve 6mm Phillips #1 screws from the bottom of the laptop.

Use the iFixit opening tools as wedges to pry the back of the laptop off.
Go slow, making sure not to snap the plastic. With enough of a gap made, you can use your hand to finish taking off the back.
