Introduction

This guide will show how to replace the cooling fan on the Acer Aspire V5-473P-5602. This part helps maintain the temperature of your machine. If your machine is displaying a message similar to “Cooling System,“ warmer than usual, or making noise, then you might want to consider replacing your cooling fan. This could be caused by a clog in the cooling system from dust, an accidental drop, or a spill.

  1. Flip the laptop over so the back panel is facing upwards. Use the Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove seventeen 2.5mm screws.
    • Flip the laptop over so the back panel is facing upwards.

    • Use the Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove seventeen 2.5mm screws.

    • Remove the back panel from the laptop using an iFixit opening tool.

  2. Unplug the cable that connects to the fan to motherboard. Unplug the cable that connects to the fan to motherboard.
    • Unplug the cable that connects to the fan to motherboard.

  3. Remove the two Phillips #0 screws that secure the fan to the base.
    • Remove the two Phillips #0 screws that secure the fan to the base.

    • Remove the fan from the laptop.
