ASUS X502CA Fan Replacement

What you need

  1. ASUS X502CA Fan Replacement, Fan: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove:

    • Eight 9 mm screws.

    • Four 5 mm screws.

    • Remove the keyboard cover panel by using a plastic opening tool to carefully pop off the clips around the perimeter.

    • Be cautious when pulling off the cover because there are cables you will have to disconnect before completely removing the panel.

    • The keyboard cover panel is connected to the motherboard with ribbons; be careful not to damage them.

    • Lift the keyboard cover carefully.

    • Disconnect the keyboard and touch-pad ribbons using tweezers.

    • Remove the keyboard cover panel.

    • Fold up the black plastic arms securing the cables and disconnect them using tweezers or finger nails.

    • If these are not unplugged, the motherboard may shock you.

    • If these are not unplugged, the motherboard may shock you.

    • Flip the motherboard over and away from the screen.

    • Remove the two 5 mm screws with a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

    • Unplug the fan's power connector using tweezers or your fingernails.

    • Peel off the marked strip using your fingers.

  12. ASUS X502CA Fan Replacement: step 12, image 1 of 1
    • Lift the fan up and away from the motherboard.
