2021 Nissan Kicks Air Filter Replacement

Ensure your Nissan Kicks is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool. Open the hood and locate the air filter housing on the engine compartment. It is usually a black, plastic box.

Release the two retaining clips around the edges of the air filter housing.

Pull forward slightly to release the holders at the back of the housing unit. Pull the housing unit upward and remove the old air filter. Note the orientation as you remove it to ensure the new filter is installed correctly.

Before installing the new air filter, use a clean, dry cloth to wipe out any dirt or debris inside the air filter housing. Ensure the housing is clean to avoid contaminating the new filter.

Place the new air filter into the housing, ensuring it fits snugly and is correctly oriented. Air filters are designed to fit one way, so ensure the edges align correctly with the housing.

Once the new air filter is in place, reattach the top of the housing. Ensure the housing tabs fit accurately into the slots at the back of the housing, and then secure the spring clips. Ensure all clips are tightly fastened to prevent unfiltered air from entering the engine.

Double-check to make sure everything is secure. Close the hood and start your vehicle to ensure everything is working correctly. Listen for any unusual sounds indicating that the housing is not sealed properly.
