2008-2013 Subaru Forester Cabin Air Filter Replacement

What you need

  1. 2008-2013 Subaru Forester Cabin Air Filter Replacement, Cabin Air Filter: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Ensure the vehicle is shut off with the key removed from the ignition before you begin.

    • Open the glovebox located on the passenger side.

    • Unhook the glovebox retention arm from the side of the glovebox by squeezing the clip together with your fingertips, and prying the arm off the lower connection point only.

    • Gently push the arm up and half way in to prevent accidental breakage.

    • Starting on either the left or right side, insert screwdriver blade tip into the small catch ramp until it releases.

    • Repeat inserting screwdriver blade tip on opposite side of glovebox and catch ramp until both sides are released and glovebox falls freely open.

    • Remove the glovebox by pulling horizontally away from its (C shaped) hinge points.

    • Open door to filter compartment to access filter.

    • Remove filter media.

    • Note orientation of filter for reinsertion.
