2007-2012 Acura RDX Engine Air Filter Replacement

What you need

  1. 2007-2012 Acura RDX Engine Air Filter Replacement, Engine Air Filter: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • On the driver-side footwell, pull the latch to open the hood.

    • Make sure you leave time between driving and performing this fix. Working around the engine while it is still hot presents a burn risk!

    • Lift up the second latch to fully open the hood.

    • This one is located right above the Acura logo on the front of the car.

    • The airbox is directly behind the battery. Remove the four 9 mm bolts holding the airbox down.

    • If you ever had the bolts replaced, they may have a slightly different head diameter. If a 9 mm socket doesn't fit, use the appropriate size socket.

    • Unscrew each of the bolts. Do not remove the bolts.

    • If the bolts are stuck, use some WD-40 or similar lubricant to help loosen them.

    • Remove the air filter from the vehicle.

    • In many cases, air filters will have an arrow to show the direction they should go. This direction represents the airflow, for this particular car we want that facing upwards.

    • Do not fully remove the bolts.
