Introduction

Over time the air filter of the car can get clogged and reduce the performance of the car. Be sure to check and if necessary replace the air filter regularly.

  • Begin by opening the hood of the vehicle and locating the air filter cover.

Image 1/3: Push the air filter cover open with your fingers. The air filter will now be visible and begin to pop up. Image 2/3: Once the air filter pops up, you can grab it with your hands and begin to remove it from the cover that is still being held open.   • Locate the two tabs on either side of the front of the air filter cover. Grab and pop open these two tabs.

  • Push the air filter cover open with your fingers. The air filter will now be visible and begin to pop up.

  • Gently pull the entire air filter out of the opened cover. This might take more than one set of hands in order to keep the cover open during removal.

  • The air filter is now fully removed and outside of the air filter cover. Obtain a new air filter to replace the old one.

Image 1/3: Gently push the new air filter back into the opened air filter cover the same way you removed it. The air filter will fall back into its resting position. Image 2/3: Once the new air filter has been fully inserted into the cover, close the cover and push the two tabs on the outside of the cover closed. Image 3/3: Once the new air filter has been fully inserted into the cover, close the cover and push the two tabs on the outside of the cover closed.
  • Pry apart the cover of the air filter again to begin inserting your new air filter.

  • Gently push the new air filter back into the opened air filter cover the same way you removed it. The air filter will fall back into its resting position.

  • Once the new air filter has been fully inserted into the cover, close the cover and push the two tabs on the outside of the cover closed.
