Introduction

This is a manual on how to replace/install the low beam lights on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. The headlight is held by clips, therefore there is no need for any other tools aside from the actual bulbs. You will have a better range of light at night in about 5 minutes.

Image 1/3: Open the hood of the truck. Image 2/3: Remove pin from the top of headlight casing. Image 3/3: Make sure to put pin in a safe place so it does not get lost.
  • Make sure vehicle is turned off and has cooled down before starting.

  • Open the hood of the truck.

  • Remove pin from the top of headlight casing.

  • Make sure to put pin in a safe place so it does not get lost.

Image 1/3: Unplug the blue clips on the back of headlight which hold the lightbulb. Image 2/3: Twist the light bulb counter clockwise and pull it out carefully from the casing. Image 3/3: Twist the light bulb counter clockwise and pull it out carefully from the casing.
  • Tilt the headlight away from the bumper and towards you.

  • Unplug the blue clips on the back of headlight which hold the lightbulb.

  • Twist the light bulb counter clockwise and pull it out carefully from the casing.

Image 1/3: Make sure to twist the bulb clockwise after inserting so that the long part is facing down. Image 2/3: Connect the blue clips onto the bottom of the lightbulb. Image 3/3: Connect the blue clips onto the bottom of the lightbulb.
  • Insert new bulb.

  • Make sure to twist the bulb clockwise after inserting so that the long part is facing down.

  • Connect the blue clips onto the bottom of the lightbulb.

Image 1/3: Make sure that the casing is aligned correctly before inserting the pin. Image 2/3: Put pin back into the holder and twist it so that it is flat. Image 3/3: Put pin back into the holder and twist it so that it is flat.
  • Put the headlight casing back into the bumper.

  • Make sure that the casing is aligned correctly before inserting the pin.

  • For better efficiency replace the other low beam, therefore one is not brighter then the other.

FYI: don't touch the bulbs with bare hands. The oil from your fingers will cause them to burn out early.
