Introduction

Replace the tail light bulbs in a '98 to '02 Honda Accord.

  • Open the trunk using your key in the trunk key slot or by using the lever under the driver's console.

Image 1/3: Carefully peel back the trunk liner from around the edge of trunk opening by the light. Image 2/3: Locate the two panel tail light connectors located between the liner and the panel tail light assembly. Image 3/3: Locate the two panel tail light connectors located between the liner and the panel tail light assembly.
  • Remove the small plastic screw along the vertical edge of the trunk entrance using a flathead screwdriver.

  • Carefully peel back the trunk liner from around the edge of trunk opening by the light.

  • Locate the two panel tail light connectors located between the liner and the panel tail light assembly.

Image 1/3: Repeat this process for the other light bulb socket. Image 2/3: Repeat this process for the other light bulb socket. Image 3/3: Repeat this process for the other light bulb socket.
  • Grab a light bulb socket and turn it counterclockwise until it can be removed from its hole.

  • Repeat this process for the other light bulb socket.

Image 1/3: Turn the light bulb sockets counterclockwise and remove them from their holes. Image 2/3: Turn the light bulb sockets counterclockwise and remove them from their holes. Image 3/3: Turn the light bulb sockets counterclockwise and remove them from their holes.
  • Locate the light bulb sockets in the trunk lid, located on the back side of the trunk tail lights.

  • Turn the light bulb sockets counterclockwise and remove them from their holes.

  • Remove the light bulbs from their sockets by gently pulling them away from the connectors.

Mine is a 2002 honda accord EX doest have that kind of fastener on the trunk's carpet... I don't know how to remove those!
