Background and Identification
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen was released in 2018, following the release of the 5th generation model in 2017. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen quickly became a popular business laptop for its reliability, performance, and portability. It is soft to the touch and characteristically light, featuring a combination of carbon fiber and magnesium. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen runs on a Core i5-8250U CPU and promises up to 15 hours of battery life, incorporating RapidCharge technology. This laptop comes with 8GB of RAM and at least 256 GB on the hard drive.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen can be identified by its sleek appearance and “ThinkPad” logos both on the lid and below the keyboard. The inside logos are black as opposed to previous models’ silver logos. This model also features a new red and grey “ThinkPad” logo on the corner of the lid which lights up when the device is powered. This device features a 14” screen and a USB-C charging port.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen replaced the 5th generation model with significant improvements to the performance by upgrading the previous 7th gen Intel Core i7-7600U CPU to the 8th gen Intel Core i5-8250U CPU. However, this model has been replaced by the 2019 Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen, which does outperform the 6th generation model with up to 18.3 hours of battery life and the 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10510U CPU.
