The Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 (Intel) is a 14.5-inch mobile workstation designed with durability and serviceability in mind. From a repairer’s perspective, it features a customer-replaceable battery, upgradeable SoDIMM/CSoDIMM memory, and an M.2-2280 SSD slot, all accessible via a removable bottom cover. While core components like the CPU, integrated GPU, and soldered Wi-Fi are fixed, many common maintenance tasks, including RAM and storage upgrades, battery replacement, and internal cleaning, can be completed by users with basic tools. The keyboard, however, requires a full top-cover swap, and dedicated GPUs (if present) are soldered, so planning purchases and repairs around these limitations is essential. Overall, it strikes a balance between modern thin-laptop constraints and user-friendly upgradeability.
Hardware:
Processor:
The P14s Gen 6 Intel features one of five available processors from Intel's Core Ultra Series 2 mobile lineup (formerly Arrow Lake). The Core Ultra 5 225H features the Intel Arc 130T integrated gpu, and all other processor options feature the Intel Arc 140T.
- Standard CTO Configurations (as of Dec 2025) are:
- Ultra 5 225H Non-vPro (14 cores, 14 threads, 20-65W TDP, E-cores up to 4.30 GHz P-cores up to 4.90 GHz)
- Ultra 5 235H vPro (14 cores, 14 threads, 20-65W TDP, E-cores up to 4.40 GHz P-cores up to 5.00 GHz)
- Ultra 7 255H non-vPro (16 cores, 16 threads, 20-65W TDP, E-cores up to 4.40 GHz P-cores up to 5.10 GHz)
- Ultra 7 265H vPro (16 cores, 16 threads, 20-65W TDP, E-cores up to 4.50 GHz P-cores up to 5.30 GHz)
- Ultra 9 285H vPro (16 cores, 16 threads, 35-65W TDP, E-cores up to 4.50 GHz P-cores up to 5.40 GHz)
Memory:
The P14s Gen 6 Intel features two user replacable and upgradable SODIMM / CSODIMM slots that can handle up to 96 GB (2x48 GB) of DDR5-5600 SoDIMM or DDR5-6400 CSoDIMM
CSODIMM and SODIMM are mechanically compatible. The difference is that CSODIMM memory modules have a "clock driver" that improves signal integrity and, in turn, enables them to run at higher speeds.
- Standard CTO Configurations (as of Dec 2025) are:
- 16 GB DDR5-5600MT/s (SODIMM) - (2 x 8 GB)
- 16 GB DDR5-5600MT/s (SODIMM)
- 32 GB DDR5-5600MT/s (SODIMM) - (2 x 16 GB)
- 32 GB DDR5-5600MT/s (SODIMM)
