Revision to Steam Deck

== Identification ==
You can find which version of Steam Deck you have by navigating to the ***Settings*** menu and navigating to ***Settings*** > ***Model/Serial Numbers*** (under the ***Hardware*** header).

Valve started shipping Steam Decks with refreshed internal designs in early 2023. [guide|148893|Remove the back cover|new_window=true] to check what version you have:
* An ***original*** Steam Deck will have a metallic motherboard shield and a fan with square sides, as [link|https://guide-images.cdn.ifixit.com/igi/dLHFOKZhRCiknI3w.full|seen here|new_window=true].
* A ***refreshed*** Steam Deck will have a black motherboard shield and a fan with curved sides, as [link|https://guide-images.cdn.ifixit.com/igi/l2ABGc6CMQFIytZB.full|seen here|new_window=true].

+All Steam Deck LCD variants can be identified by model number ***1010***.
Valve announced the [[Topic:Steam Deck OLED|Steam Deck OLED|new_window=true]] in November 2023. The Steam Deck OLED has identical exterior dimensions to the Steam Deck LCD, but the ***OLED model*** can be quickly identified by its bright orange power button along the top edge.
