Will not turn on

My iPod touch was working fine and the battery was charged well. I pushed the standby button and when I tried a few minutes later to turn it on, nothing happened. I connected it to my desktop computer and it was not recognized by the computer and still it would not turn on.

I did the soft reset for 15 seconds... It didn't work, it then tried 40 seconds and the apple logo suddenly appeared, if your iPod is uncharged a symbol showing a low battery should appear on your screen ☺️

I have often used the 15 sec tricks. Good idea to be à little bit more patient ;-) After 50 some seconds a looooow battery icon was showing. Merci !

by

Took me 40 seconds and I made sure to press down hard. Thank the lordy. Apple comes through again!

by

thanks-that really helped=made Christmas merry!

by

I finally got a low battery to show after 50 sec hold on the two buttons. How do I find someone to help replace the battery?

by

I appreciate it. Patience ended up winning out in the end on multiple units that I was told were dead. Thank you

If your computer doesn't recognize it then that means that your battery is probably bad.

If it's a 6th Gen touch it should still be under warranty. Get it back to Apple for repair or replacement.

Try soft reset! This helped me today. I got up, unplugged my iPod 6th generation and was going to take it to school but I went back into my room to get it and it wouldn't turn on. I freaked out and I tried calling my mom but she didn't answer cause she was at work so I wrote on the white board saying that my iPod wouldn't turn on and my parents saw it well I was at school. When I got home I saw my case on the table with my iPad mini and my parents were yelling at me. I wanted to prove to them that I am responsible so on my iPad mini I looked up a bunch and I found this soft reset thing. (How to soft reset: hold down the home button and power button at the same time for 15 seconds.) if this doesn't work then return it, or take it to a Apple Store. Sorry for telling my story from this morning and afternoon XD

Hey Galin Halimar,

So sad the soft reset didn't worked :-(

But the end of the world is not there yet!

You must replace the battery, it's probably bad.

Here's the part and the guide, stop by step 22 and work backwards.

Yeah mine has been like it for a day now

Mines been like that for maybe 4 to 5 months cause some guy puts his stuff on top of it and it just went black and won't turn on. I tried to connect it to my computer. I tried the soft restart. I tried everything and it still won't work. I might have to takemit to the Apple store for repairment to get it working again. And I also tried the IOS as well but no reconigization for it either.

And I literally just got for Christmas too

My iPod Touch 6th Gen was dropped in water now won’t turn on can it be fixed?

Kbrick, I don't think the Ipod 6 works if you drop it in water. Minor issues, like a few drops dripped onto it or you used a wet tissue to wash the screen is fine. But major issues probably won't end so well.
