What is the thickness of air space under the iPad glass?

From the teardown, we know that the iPad glass is aproximatly 1.18 mm thick.

We would like to know the thickness of the air space between the iPad glass and TFT, or if there is no air space.

If there is another kind of material (or materials) between the TFT and glass, we would like to know what it is and how thick.

We have one apart right now, and the gap looks to be anywhere from .4 mm to 1 mm. The steel frame around the outside of the LCD is about .4 mm thick, and there is also a thin foam gasket attached to the steel LCD frame that would increase the gap between the LCD and front glass by a small amount.

As far as material underneath the glass, if you're asking about a fluid or sheet, there isn't anything. The air gap could probably be measured by another one of our guide makers; maybe they'll chime in later.
