Samsung Galaxy S5 Active Charging Port Replacement

I can not find ANY repair guides for just repairing the charging port on the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. I have purchased the Charging Dock Port Flex Cable to replace it, but I have not found ANY instructions or any videos on how to replace it. I was hoping for any help at all!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

so can you access it from the back or does the front need to come off??

The only way to access the charge port or anything inside the device is to remove the LCD assembly. More than likely you will also need to purchase an assembly due to the difficulty in removing the original display.

Would changing the active charging port solve any issues that the home and menu buttons may have? One of my buttons is unresponsive.

by

Replacing the charging flex should fix the unresponsive button, however if the problem exists due to a software issue simply switching the flex will do no good. A good way to determine if it is a hardware fault is to check and make sure it is missing the familiar "click" action and feel. If it still clicks it could possibly be a software issue or damage to the device elsewhere internally.

Follow the guides for the motherboard replacement and then remove the two screws on either side of the home button bar and the single screw on the bottom center of the phone. Now that the two screws have been removed, the outer plastic around the bottom of the device can be peeled away. After that there are two plastic covers over the charge port assembly that can be peeled away. Keep in mind that there is a lot of adhesive on these parts and it will take time and patience to remove them and the device will no longer be water resistant.

I am unsure what stack and back means but the new parts typically come as an entire assembly. With the pads for the buttons to push, the white face, the USB port, antenna connector, and microphone attached.
